From an Author
Webster's defines a writer as “One who writes,“ but I have found that the art of writing is re-writing. I have also found that I'm not an artist. Laura Voyles is the artist: the Michelangelo of editors.
My first editor was so harsh with her red pen that I stopped writing for a year. I found the second editor from an advertisement she placed in a writer's magazine. She was very expensive but gave loads of encouragement. I was amazed! Everything I wrote was great. Unfortunately when she sent back documents, they still had mistakes even misspelled words. And for the mistakes she did point out, she gave no direction for improvements.
Laura is a different kind of editor one with a personal touch. Being a former teacher, she not only corrected my book but took the time to teach me where I was off track and how MUCH revision will make the story better.
I may have written the book, but Laura is helping me look like a professional. Without her, I would have no chance of being taken seriously as a writer. My book is now under consideration by a New York agent.
“When I die, I want my soul left to God, my material possessions to my wife, and my books for the world to read.” (inspired by Michelangelo)

I have known Laura Voyles for 11 years, and in that time she has assisted me with countless written pieces. She has played the roles of both judge and editor of my work; in those capacities, I have found her insightful and critical, creative and open-minded, persistent and organized, but above all, thorough.
Effective writing is a cornerstone of my livelihood, and over the course of our interactions I have come to trust Laura to advise me upon and improve my personal, creative works as well as more technical pieces. Her breadth of expertise consistently impresses me, and I continue to rely upon it.
Laura has a keen and rare ability to expose exactly what the author intends to communicate, and she is no less adept at stripping away any inessential elements so that the author’s message might stand alone with greater clarity and precision. Bringing those skills to bear, Laura has, without question, improved each of the works for which I engaged her services.

From a Businesswoman
When I began PARTY S.O.S. earlier this year, I was apprehensive and overwhelmed. There is so much to consider when writing a business plan and formulating statement of work contracts. I came to the table with some scattered ideas and just enough knowledge to be dangerous! Her expert advice and writing skills put me at ease right away.
I could not be happier with the Business Plan and other documents she created for me. Her work is professional but not daunting in its presentation. Everything was easy to use, read and understand.
I am sure the material I initially provided was not easy to wade through, and by the appearance, I'm sure the documents were quite time-consuming to create. I was overjoyed to received the finished product well before my deadline! PARTY S.O.S. may use the tagline "Let Us Save You the Hassles!" but it is Laura who saved ME! I will never hesitate to use her services in the future, and I'll recommend her to all my business associates and friends!

“In every block of marble I see a statue as plain as though it stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action. I have only to hew away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the other eyes as mine see it.”
